Journey Through South America on Azamara Club Cruises

Our Expert Judy and her husband were recently on the Azamara Journey for 6-nights.  Their itinerary embarked in Rio and disembarked in Buenos Aires.  Some of the ports they called on were Buzios, Parati and Punta de Este.  One of the reasons Judy chose Azamara Club Cruises was due to the unique ports they visit and the fact that they stay longer in port and have more overnights.

Judy enjoyed her C2 cabin, which is a suite with a full balcony, 2 large closets, and a tremendous amount of counter space, great lighting and butler service.  The butler was there at their beck and call, taking care of any of their needs.  They will even unpack and pack for you.

The suite was beautiful… and when you add the special amenities, it just became over-the-top.  A bottle of champagne awaits guests upon arrival to their suite and several small sized bottles of alcohol are waiting for you.  Upscale bathroom amenities including shampoo, soaps, body wash and lotions were plentiful.  The bed linens were lovely and quite comfortable.

Judy’s favorite part of the cruise was the AzAmazing Evening.  Azamara puts on a bespoke evening for the guests on each of their journeys.  In Buenos Aires, they were picked up by motor coaches and taken to a Samba show.  There were 50-75 performers dressed in elaborate costumes who put on a fantastic show.  The dancers appeared on stage first and then came into the audience to get the guests involved.  Everyone loved it and it was the talk of the ship for the duration of the cruise.

Azamara sets the bar high with the quality of their entertainment.  Between the variety show and the disco, Judy and her husband kept busy every night and until the wee hours of the morning.  Everyone was having a great time both day and night!

A couple of the nights, Judy chose to dine at the specialty restaurants onboard.  Prime C, the steakhouse, is as good as any high-end steakhouse you have been to.  The steaks are prepared perfectly, the menu is traditional steakhouse fare and the service is impeccable.  Aqualina is delicious as well and offers a fabulous wine menu.  The wait staff at both restaurants was very attentive and paid close attention to detail.

Judy and her husband enjoyed the Main Dining Room very much.  The food was always served warm and the staff was always smiling.  A large menu with plenty of choices makes it easy to try something new every night onboard.  It’s a nice place to have a leisurely dining experience after a long tiring day of touring.

Onboard, they offer wine tasting classes for a small fee of $10 per person, where they serve several different types of wines from the region they visit.  They also served a beautiful array of cheese, crackers and salami.

Judy would love to help you plan the cruise of your dreams onboard Azamara Club Cruises.
