Regent Seven Seas Cruises

After a long flight to Argentina, I was glad I choose a pre cruise option of staying in Buenos Aires for 2 days. I checked into the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires and immediately felt right at home. I treated myself to a traditional Argentinean feast in the beautiful on site restaurant and retreated to my room for a good night of sleep. I boarded the ship the next day and realized this was going to be the trip of a lifetime. The ship is absolutely gorgeous yet not stuffy. It has a distinct feel of relaxed luxury and is country club casual. There is one formal night and the rest of the nights are more casual. There were guests of all ages and as I am in my 20's, I fit right in. The staff is very attentive and they always address you by name. They were always there to take care of whatever my needs were. The dining experiences onboard were fabulous and the food is innovative and tasty. You can basically get anything you want any time of the day from specialty coffees to snacks to a salad by the pool. My stateroom was spacious, bright and had a beautiful verandah where I watched the sunset over the water at night. The bathroom was larger than any others on the ships I had sailed on previously. Each night when I retreated to my cabin, I always enjoyed the turn down service of a freshly made bed and chocolates on my pillow. The fitness center was a nice size and had an ocean view making it easy to keep in shape while traveling. They have cardio equipment and weight training equipment. It was never crowded and had hours that were convenient and worked around our daily activities. The shore excursions that Regent offers are plentiful. My favorite one was a guided tour to Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. I also visited the famous Ipenema beach, Sugar Loaf Mountain, attended a traditional Brazilian barbeque and went to a Tango show. There was lots of shopping and lots of great food everywhere we visited. I chose to do guided tours as I felt more comfortable, however these areas have all been cleaned up of the crime from the past. It is on my "Travel Buckeet List" to sail onboard Regent Seven Seas to another location in the very near future.
