Royal Carribean Allure of the Seas Western Caribbean

Our agent Pam Milton returned last week from a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Allure of The Seas. She was accompanied by her husband, her son and daughter-in-law and their three small children, making this a multi generational trip. Pam was very impressed with the ship and would recommend it highly for families with or without children. To keep the kids entertained, they have kids clubs for all different ages and the activities are geared towards the age of that particular group. The Aqua Tot program was where her 9 month old grandchild spent time with qualified baby sitters. For a nominal fee, they will come to your stateroom to baby sit in the evenings. Don't bother bringing your stroller, as they are provided through the cruise line. Pam's other two grandchildren, ages 3 and 5, were with children their ages and were kept busy doing science and art projects, games and other age appropriate activities. The staff members even took the children to the buffet allowing the adults to enjoy meals on their own. The kids also loved the character breakfast where Shrek and gang or Madagascar friends enjoyed breakfast with cruisers. Pam does suggest making reservations as far in advance as possible as this is a very popular activity. Everyone enjoyed the boardwalk where there was a merry-go-round and other rides for the kids. The adults enjoyed the zip line, two climbing walls and other sports related activities. Each night the family went to the Aquatheater to watch the acrobatic type show where high divers performed stunts in the water. There is also a teen club and many different clubs and lounges for the adults. With twenty-one different dining venues, there is always something for everyone. Pam's favorite specialty restaurant was Giovanni, which is an Italian style restaurant with delicious food and incredible service. The kids loved it here as the waiter took them into the kitchen to pick their own desserts. They also enjoyed Chops, which is the traditional steakhouse. Pam's suggestion is to book a specialty restaurant package, this way you can make your first reservation before your cruise and book the remaining nights as soon as you board. You also receive a nice discount when you purchase it ahead of time. There are many restaurants that are included in your fare and are also wonderful. Her whole family loved the Park Cafe where they had sandwiches and salads for lunch, the buffet where the options were unlimited and the main dining room which was consistent in quality and service. There is even a Starbucks and a Johnny Rocket's onboard! There are many different types of staterooms to fit everyone's needs. For Pam, they chose the Inside Balcony Stateroom, which overlooked the Boardwalk. A great choice as this is a spacious and well appointed room. The first port was Labadee, Haiti. Pam was pleased to see that Royal Caribbean has an exclusive port and passengers are escorted off the ship into the terminal and to either a shopping area or private beach exclusive to Royal Caribbean passengers. They felt very safe there and everything was clean. On the beach, Royal has activities for the kids, yoga and wellness classes for the adults and lunch for everyone. The way they have it set up makes is easy for everyone to enjoy Haiti in a controlled environment. The next stop was Fallmouth, Jamaica. It was the same here where the shopping and beach are exclusive for Royal Caribbean passengers. Pam and her family took a private car/driver tour through the countryside to Montego Bay. Again, another private beach where umbrellas and chairs were set up for them. The driver even knew where to take them to get their delicious Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee to take home to their friends . This family left their cruise with smiling faces and many happy memories. They will certainly cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Pam feels confident recommending this amazing ship to travelers wanting a ship with lots of activities, great value, good food and great ports.
