Our Expert Shares Her Favorite Hotels in London - The Milestone, Egerton, and The Goring.

Are you jetting off to London anytime soon? If you are, keep in mind our Expert loves these hotels. They are unique from each other and all are offered by Luxury Cruise Experts. Starr's favorite is the Milestone for many reasons. Wonderfully located within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and faces Kensington Palace (William and Kate will soon reside here). It is just minutes from the Royal Albert Hall, Knightsbridge shopping, including Harrods and is within easy access to the West End. The Milestone overlooks Kensington Gardens with Hyde Park just beyond. Hyde Park is home to London's largest green space offering scenic walks, jogging trails, horseback riding, and boating on the Serpentine. The rooms are gorgeously appointed and no two rooms are alike. The bar located in the lobby is vibrant and a wonderful space to mingle or relax at the end of a long day of sightseeing. Another favorite of Starr's is the Egerton Hotel. This is a small jewel like property with twenty-three luxurious rooms, four Studio Suites, and one Victoria & Albert one bedroom suites. Each has been individually designed using bespoke furnishings, fine fabrics and stunning original art. Recently refurbished with traditional English style and flair, this luxury townhouse resides on a pretty, tree-lined street in fashionable Knightsbridge and is close to shopping including the world famous Harrods. The chic Egerton is renowned for its charm, attention to detail, and its impeccable levels of service. The Egerton also has a wonderful bar, offering traditional cocktails and English snacks. The Goring is yet another favorite. This historic hotel is 100 years old and is family owned, making it the oldest privately owned luxury hotel in London. There are many connecting rooms, making this ideal for families traveling with children. You can tell this hotel is run by a family and enjoys the young visitors. This is a great choice for those looking for the quintessential English experience. The location, in the heart of London, makes it especially popular. They take pride in offering the highest levels of personal service and that shows with their impeccable customer service and attention to detail. Their private gardens are overlooked by the splendid Lounge Bar, which is a perfect spot for a sumptuous afternoon tea or glass of champagne. The Dining Room thrives on the award-winning reputation for delivering the best traditional English dishes. Within the past five years, some of the top British Interior Designers have been enlisted to enhance the sophistication, glamour, and luxury of the 69 rooms and suites. The finished product is outstanding.
