The Resort at Pelican Hill

If you live anywhere in or near Southern California, there is a good change you have heard of or stayed at The Resort at Pelican Hill.  It is extremely popular among So Cal residents and is now gaining popularity to people from all over the globe due to the fact that John Wayne International Airport is open to many more incoming flights.  This airport is only about ten minutes away from the resort.

About 30 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport and about 80 miles north of San Diego, is a most pristine destination resort called The Resort at Pelican Hill.  With many restaurant choices, lounges, spa, fitness center, golf and so much more, there is no need to leave the resort once you arrive!

On our latest stay there, we had an Ocean View Bungalow.  The resort does not sit right on the beach, but the view is spectacular.  Perched on the hillside, the resort offers spectacular ocean views from most of their guest accommodations, restaurants, pools and various other spots on property.  I have to be honest and say that we not only did not leave the resort, we rarely left our bungalow.  We were both in great need of a little rest and relaxation, so we decided to have room service bring our breakfast each morning, followed by some reading and napping on our patio.  The Bungalow is quite spacious and the bathroom is very large.  We had a nice soaking tub with a gorgeous view of the ocean.  They even had a really great rack attaching to each side of the tub that held my book and glass of wine.  Talk about getting pampered!

They also have 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas.  Behind another set of gates, these can only be accessed if you are staying in one.  They are immensely private and very secure.  The Villas also have their own restaurant and clubhouse.

The golf… is fabulous.  With two courses to choose from, each golfer will find him/herself happy as a clam here.  Definitely a must do to try one or both on your visit here.  A visit to the Pelican Grill for appetizers and drinks after the 18th hole, is a great way to finish your day.

For the first time ever, I left my workout shoes at home!  Not on purpose, but I did enjoy being a little lazy.  My exercise consisted of walking over to the fitness center to do a site inspection so I would be able to tell my friends and clients about it.  It has everything you could want including lots of cardio equipment and weight training equipment.  Extremely clean and spacious, it is a great place to get your workout.

The Spa at Pelican Hill is gorgeous.  Following the Tuscan theme, the interior is very grandiose.  Treatments are plentiful and really wonderful.  As my amenity to you for booking with me, I include a $100 spa or golf credit with your stay.  Breakfast daily is also included.

Andrea, their signature restaurant, is not to be missed.  They serve the most amazing Italian cuisine.  This is not only a meal, it is an experience.  We sat for three hours sipping wine, tasting appetizers, devouring our main courses and sampling their most popular desserts.  Let me not forget the best way to finish off your meal here… with a lovely glass of Limon cello.  I enjoyed each course, but my favorite was the mushroom risotto.  The waiter comes to your table with an aged wheel of parmesan cheese.  He loads the center of the wheel with piping hot risotto and stirs, so you get the rich flavor of the cheese in the risotto.  It is absolutely mouth wateringly good.

One of the best perks of my job is getting to experience some of the most beautiful resorts and destinations around the world.  I would have to say, The Resort at Pelican Hill is one of my favorites.  They really know how to treat their guests.  This is truly a luxury travel experience.  One not to be missed!
