Each bure offers 1,650 square feet of serenity and privacy. They also include a secluded rear garden and two covered outdoor decks, four-poster king bed clad in the finest Fili D' Oro 100% cotton sheets from Italy, oversized soaking tub, open-air lava rock shower, gracious living room with wet bar, indigenous yaka timber flooring and a double-hammock strung between coconut palms, just outside your bure. On Wakaya Island, the notion of locally grown and organic produce is a given. As you are driven from the airstrip towards the resort, you will notice an abundance of groves and lush gardens. Their kitchen specializes in Pacific Rim fare. Inspired by the Islands plentiful resources, including locally raised venison, lamb, pork, chickens and their freshly laid eggs, Muscovy ducks and their eggs, their fare is gourmet and beyond delicious. The seafood served at Wakaya is drawn from the Koro Sea and includes green lobster, mangrove crab, tuna, shrimp, walu, wahoo and mahi-mahi. The menu changes daily, depending on what the freshest catches are. Their organic garden produces several varieties of lettuce including micro-greens, herbs, Chinese cabbage, avocados, eggplant, kumquats, lemons, limes, papayas, pineapples, guava and Fijian ginger. This is world renowned and absolutely the best tasting ginger. Their breakfast preserves are homemade.
