Emerging Exotic Destinations
As travel professionals, it is our job to keep our eye on the future of travel. Today's hot destinations were explored years ago by the savvy and well-travelled. These initial visits test the location and allow us to sort out where to stay, what to do, and most importantly, what travellers will truly enjoy the experience. Here we share 5 up and coming destinations that are soon to be the talk of the town. For now, they're our inside secrets, but we're already sharing them with our adventurous clients! #5 - The Mendoza Wine Region - Argentina The city of Mendoza, known as "the land of wine and sunshine" is the capital of Cuyo province. Home to Malbec and Mt. Aconcagua wines, it is one of the most beautiful cities in Argentina. Tucked away in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, it is a man-made oasis where the Tunuyan and Mendoza Rivers have been channeled into a huge irrigation system, giving life to everything it touches. The Mendoza River is a perfect place for river rafting and is the starting point for adventures such as skiing and mountaineering. Our favorite spot for lodging is the Cavas Wine Lodge. Set in a stunning location amid the snow-capped Andes Mountains and the green vineyards of Lujan de Cuyo, it is only a short drive from the city of Mendoza. #4 - Madagascar, Africa This destination is Africa's answer to the Galapagos. It has been named the 8th continent of the world by scientists. Madagascar's varied forests, stunning scenery, and fascinating culture, provide the ideal backdrop to view mammals, reptiles and a large variety of bird species, 120 which are endemic. As a matter of fact, 90% of all species on the island are endemic. There are 100 types of lemurs and more chameleons than anywhere else in the world. In Madagascar, you can experience the rainforest, desert plains, beaches and mountains. Our Experts together with Cox & Kings will plan your perfect and seamless vacation to this exotic location. #3 - Iceland and Reykjavik Experience the natural pristine beauty in Iceland where the waterfalls and geysers are stunning and the volcanoes are spectacular. Now is the time to travel there, as the prices are a fraction of what they used to be allowing travelers great value for their travel dollars. Reykjavik is located in the Arctic Circle. 2-4 days gives you plenty of time to see this beautiful location. By day, experience the black sand beaches and volcanoes. You don't want to miss walking on a glacier or enjoy fishing or horseback riding. By night, experience the wonderful dining options and nightlife that Reykjavik has to offer. The Areola Borealis will be visible in October. #2 - Tasmania, Australia A small island located off the southern coast of Australia, Tasmania is known as the food and wine capital of Australia. The cuisine is made from local fresh ingredients and is innovative and cutting edge. Most of the island is unpopulated. If you are looking for a hip, artsy culture with plenty of art galleries, you will not want to miss a stay in the capitol city of Hobart. The Henry Jones Hotel is a favorite of our Experts. In the center of the town is Cradle Mountain surrounded by beautiful beaches and breath taking waterfalls. No trip to Tasmania is complete without a Tasmanian Devil sighting! #1 - Myanmar, Southeast Asia Welcome to the Golden Land! The official name of this country is the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and it is located in Southeast Asia, bordered by India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. Don't postpone this one, as it is at the top of the "up and coming" travel list and is one of Asia's most sought after destinations. Our Experts love the Orient Express Railway "Road to Mandalay" tour. One of the best ways to see the unspoiled territory of this country is high above in a hot air balloon. The view of the Temples below rising from the mist is spectacular. To learn more about any of the above travel destinations, contact a Luxury Cruise & Vacation Expert today.
