Enjoy the Cuisine Onboard Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises bills itself as an upper-premium cruise line, positioned between the luxury segment and the premium segment. They offer a vacation that emphasizes fine food and wine, luxurious accommodations, and personalized service aboard its mid-sized ships. Since Oceania first started up, it's put a lot of emphasis on dining; both the experience and the cuisine. The specialty restaurants are included in the cruise fare, as they feel that every guest should have the opportunity to try them all. The most high-profile of the specialty restaurants is Jacques. The first restaurant ever created on land or sea by celebrity chef Jacques Pepin, was designed with the feel of a French country bistro. The restaurant focuses on traditional French country cuisine and is simply divine. As you enter, you will be instantly struck by the sensory pleasures. Luscious aromas waft from the gleaming glass and brass show rotisserie in the center of the room, where pork, duck, chicken and veal roasts slowly turn, sealing in their juicy flavors. Decorated with heirloom antiques and rich fabrics, it resembles a classic Parisian bistro and is exceedingly comfortable. The ambiance is pure French and the cuisine is cosmopolitan yet wonderfully approachable. Polo Grill is timeless, a traditional setting that personifies a classic steakhouse. Each course is a consummate expression of time-honored favorites. Enjoy a succulent Colossal Shrimp Cocktail, followed by Lobster Bisque Topped with Morsels of Roasted Lobster. The Caesar Salad is prepared tableside as is in the most traditional style steakhouses. Delight in knowing that all of the cuts of beef are USDA Prime and dry-aged for at least 28 days. Other classics include Surf and Turf, featuring a Florida Lobster Tail and tender Filet Mignon, and whole Maine Lobster Gratinee. In Tuscany, the walls are adorned with beautiful scenes of the fertile Tuscan countryside, an artistic expression of the authentic dining experience awaiting guests. Simple yet well balanced, Tuscan cuisine evolved from rich family traditions, epitomized within Toscana, where many of the recipes originated with the grandmothers and mothers of their Italian culinary staff. The sommeliers are from long lines of wine-producing families, so they inherently know the characteristics of each vintage to perfectly complement your meal. Presented on elegant custom-designed Versace china, each dish is a masterpiece that exemplifies the essence of Tuscany. Relish antipasti like Beef Topped with Aged Reggiano Parmigiano or Sauteed Jumbo Shrimp Scampi Tenderly Wrapped in Prosciutto San Daniele. Or, enjoy a traditional Porcini Mushroom Risotto with Caramelized Shallots and Fresh Thyme. Savor delectable entrees such as a Tender Bone-In Milk-Fed Veal Chop Grilled to Perfection and Topped with Sauteed Piedmonte Wild Mushroom Sauce. Red Ginger's chefs have created a striking menu, noted for its contemporary interpretations of Asian classics. Guests can begin with a Salad of Roast Duck and Watermelon with Cashews, Mint and Thai Basil. Savor a Nutty Braised Beef Malay Curry with Coconut Rice and Paratha Roti. Or Asian-Spiced Rack of lamb with Kohl Robi, Creamed Spinach and Truffle Oil. For dessert, you must try the Green Tea Banana Cake with Toffee and Hazelnut Sauce Served with Coconut Ice Cream. It is the perfect ending to a fabulous meal. In Red Ginger, the gustatory pleasures are as striking as the visual ones. In the center of the Grand Dining Room, like a precious jewel imbedding the room with radiance, hangs a luminous crystal chandelier. Patterned after exquisite 5-star restaurants, the dining room is handsomely decorated in rich woods, soft cocoa and hues of cream and gold. Tables are beautifully set with European china, sparkling Riedel crystal and fine cotton linens. The formally attired wait staff attend to each detail with flawless impeccability as they graciously serve course after course of European-inspired Continental cuisine or the healthy and savory fare of the world-renowned Canyon Ranch. Menus change daily, with a large selection of sumptuous dishes for breakfast and lunch, followed by at least six appetizers and nine entrees at dinner. The Terrace Cafe is the perfect spot to start your carefree vacation day. The furnishings are so inviting and the room is infused with natural sunlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows. It just stimulates the appetite for the sumptuous breakfast selections. At lunch, the expansive menu of international dishes changes entirely, beautifully complemented by flavorful roasted and rotisserie meats, and the magic of the pizzeria's oven. Dine inside or alfresco at one of the shaded teak tables on the terrace, both offering stunning panoramic views. Let us not forget La Reserve by Wine. La Reserve is an industry first onboard wine-tasting center that offers gourmands the opportunity to enjoy a series of seminars and tastings that will enhance your appreciation of fine wine and perfectly paired cuisine. During the day, you might sample a flight of regional wines that the sommelier has hand-selected from the wine cellar onboard. Evenings are a more exclusive affair. A maximum of 24 guests can gather for an intimate epicurean experience where you are treated to a seven-course gourmet dinner, where each course is paired with an appropriate premium wine. La Reserve does require reservations and a surcharge applies. Privee stands alone as Oceania Cruises most indulgent, one-of-a-kind dining experience. Opulently decorated with Ferrari red carpeting, oversized white baby crocodile throne chairs, ornate Baroque millwork, and flanked by backlit onyx-clad walls, the setting for Privee is absolutely exquisite. Guests dining at Privee are able to enjoy a menu selected from Polo Grill, Toscana or a combination of both. The menu is custom tailored to each guest as they choose their own items. Within the sanctum of Privee, dining engages all the senses, leaving you immensely fulfilled. Privee can be reserved for groups of up to 10 guests and a surcharge applies. Oceania takes pride in their cuisine as it is an essential ingredient to their success. They want you to enjoy the dining experiences onboard as much as they enjoy preparing for you.
